Hmm...

So on an average Saturday night, i am sitting here with the tv on in the background and thinking about what my next move should be. Do i stay and see what happens or do i cut the line and run like i've done in so man situations. Any advice?

On a positive note, it looks like i am going to CA for Christmas which i think is a really good thing. I miss seeing the family and my friends from home. Plus, it would have been a shame to break the "New Year's Eve" tradition with Melissa. So wahoo, i'm pumped about going.

So what's the point of this post, nothing really, just random thoughts going out there into the great abyss.

Into the Streets....

Today for the Student Affairs Retreat, i went to the animal shelter and played with the dogs and cats. There were some adorable puppies and kitties. Somehow i don't think that Baines or Bess would let me take one home with me.

Phone craziness update!!

My phone started ringing again... hilarious!!! who knows why but i'm enjoying it for the time being.

When it rains, it pours... literally

So Friday continued to be the cursed day for things to go wrong. As posted in an earlier blog, my phone stopped ringing. It only vibrates now so there is a good chance that i will miss your call if you try to reach me.

When i arrived home, the internet and TV were not working and i had a leak in my downstairs bathroom ceiling.

The cable was an easy fix, it turns out that some rookie mediacom guy disconnected my service when he was trying to disconnect someone else's service since they had moved. Within a few hours i was up and running again. The leak however is a whole 'nother story. I stepped into a puddle on Friday but since then, it has been drying so that now the tile is dry. I didn't do anything different, still showered and used the toilet as usual and it didn't leak again. WTF? My bathroom apparently has a mysterious leak in it...

Still no maintenance guys from my apartment complex to check it out. i guess i will simply have to suffer through it with mold and the other fun stuff that goes with a ceiling tile that got wet. Nasty

Freaking Phones

I've fallen victim to the defective phone nonsense. It no longer rings so i am stuck on vibrate. Ugh!! So in advance... I apologize for not answering your phone calls.

New Car

Finally..... Here are some pictures of my new car. I absolutely freaking love it!!!!!!

It is soooo me! Fully loaded with all of the bells and whistles.

On April 1st I had a flat tire waiting for me when i walked out to my car and so i did what any self-respecting girl would do..... call a man!!! So after talking to Jason for a few minutes he decided that he would come and help me out.

When he arrived at "the shire," he told me that "my tire better be flat". Can you believe that he thought that it was an April Fools Joke. LOL! Silly boys. He changed my tire and did become my hero, ha ha ha!

New car is a coming

So after a few weeks of looking and exploring my options, i have chosen a car. My "new to me" Ford Edge will be picked up today, hopefully. I am super excited for all of the bells and whistles that will accompany it so stay tuned for my real blog regarding this vehicle. Wahoo!!!

As one season draws to a close, another one begins...

Football season ends tomorrow with the Super Bowl, GO Colts!!! It's been a real good year and i can't wait to next year and a new season.

But on to the next thing.... NASCAR!! Today it all begins with the Bud Shootout and then next week, Daytona!! Wahoo!! I wish that i could be in California for my birthday and at the race but I'll be ok and content with watching it on the DVR. Who's excited, this girl!

In other news, checked out the fireman's place and it is cute. One thing about Midwestern houses is that the rooms are small and i have no clue how people expect you to have the amount of crap that i have and fit it into a place like that. Ha ha ha!! Oh man, I'm such a girl.

death of a coffee cup

So yesterday one of my favorite coffee cups jumped to its death from the cabinet. so sad, some day i will have to find another owl cup to replace it. But for now i will motor one with the normal coffee cups.

A few days ago, i received the best gift ever. A 12-cup Brew Station!!!! This thing is balling and everyone should have one in their home. It appears to be a "just because" gift from Jason which is super cute, what a great guy. Or maybe, he needed to bribe me in order to meet the parents, naaaawww! I'll go with the idea that he is a great guy.

Back to the grind...

Well it's official, I am back in the Midwest and the cold. After a few days of being back to the grind I was ready for the weekend. And then... the students return on Monday.

This week was busy with catching up on emails and work but it also included a date with a certain Mattoonian. Work... blah blah blah, I'm sure that the thing that you are most interested in hearing about is the date.

Well here you have it fans... since the weather was supposed to get nasty we decided that it would be a good idea to stick around the town and so he was going to make dinner at my place and then hang out since i had been gone for two weeks and had just retrieved the dogs from the "doggie spa" the night before.

Safe to say, he exceeded expectations for the evening. Not that i was worried but you know how it goes, normal first date jitters and knowing that we would be hanging out for a while. We had been talking over the phone for the entire time that i was gone so i wasn't expecting any funny business or for "the crazy vibe" to present itself. But enough with me trying to justify whatever and back to the story...
He showed up bearing flowers which as any woman can attest to, are lovely since most of the time we only get them when something bad has happened so this was a pleasant surprise. And then he brought out post-christmas presents which was unexpected since we had only just met before i left for the holidays but he got Bess a sweater and then he brought treats for Baines which he would have to share with Bess. And then, the snuggie showed it's face, ha ha ha ha!!! Leopard print and soft as can be. So safe to say, this girl was done over by the thoughtfulness of the mattonian. And then there was dinner, yummy pasta and wine over good conversation and lots of laughs. Safe to say, date one was a total success.
